Post 5: Video Games

I don’t use computers to play video games. I have played computers games but a lot of years ago. I used to play a game called Rayman and another called The Sims, basically. Both were very cool, specially the second one, Sims, because it was about building houses. The boring thing it was that you were a person in the game and you had to do all things that we do in our normal life, like study to have a good job, and then work a lot to have enough money to build a cool house. The good thing was that there were some secret codes to get money instantaneously.

I would like to play Sims again but I know I will be obsessed very soon and I will use all my time in that. So, I prefer not to do that for now.  

I think video games are very far of being something productive. It doesn’t help in anything to the person that plays, it’s addictive and it doesn’t relax because most of them are stage games and provoke stress and you can stay a lot of hours in front of the computer obsessed with passing the levels.

I think the people that plays video game (I mean, those who spends most of their free time in that activity) can’t be healthy. Being in front of a screen more than an hour is bad for your vision and your brain doesn’t rest. You need a recreational activity that makes you move your body a little bit.

Personally, I try not to use my computer very much.  I get fun with it but I use it to work mostly, and I know it’s very useful but I try not to do all my like through the computer.   

Post 4: Rewilding Europe

This article is about a project of WWF and others organizations of reincorporate some animals to their originals habitat in some parts of Europe, called “Rewilding Europe”, and its objective is to give back some balance to the planet and allow the natural progress that in our context it’s always stopped or interrupted by the man.

This project plans to incorporate species to ten different habitats, in a total area of 1000 hectares and five of those habitats are already incorporating the species.  The article announced the area number six, which is The Central Apennines in Italy, and the other four areas are unknowns yet.

The areas in which the project is already working are Spain and Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia and Poland, the west side of Romania, and finally, its east side.  And all the areas chosen are important and large natural places, with a lot of biodiversity and without human intervention except for the hunting.

Another reason to returns these animals to their original habitat is because some of them are disappearing very fast in a short time, and taking them back to their habitat it means the decreased of the threat of an unnatural habitat and the decrease of the human’s  damage, and produce the restart of the normal reproduction of the species too.  And with the objective of keeping the species reintroduced, the hunting, a very common recreational activity done in all of the European forests, it’s going to be reduced for the moment and maybe in a future, finally abolished.

Post 1: My ideal job

I want to work in a lot of different stuff after I finish the university. In fact, I would like to have three parallel jobs.

First than anything, I want to continue the work that I’m already doing as an internships applicant in the book restoration laboratory of the National Library. I hope I could work in this library in the future because it’s a very relaxing work and I really like it, but you have to be very careful and patient (I am), so there are not many people who do this work. 

Also, I like cooking cakes, cookies, brownies and bread, so I would like to cook in my free time and sell these things to coffee shops and bakeries, which is a very possible thing to do but it’s a lot of work and dedication so I will think about this in a few years and not now.

The third job is as a volunteer in a rescue center for wild animals close to Santiago. This one is the most complicated because you have to work for free or the pay is very little, so it’s a very nice thing to do for free but it’s very utopic too. 

Post 3: Japanese Animation

Anime is the japanese animation of TV series and movies. When I was a child I used to watch a lot of Anime series like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Saint Seya and Ranma 1/2. These were my favorites but I was very young so I don't remember them very well. I used to like them because anime is more realistic than other cartoons and the stories were more dramatic. Also, the drawings are more detailed and when I was a child I used to love the faces of the characters, specially their big eyes.

The first anime serie that I saw was Saint Seya and then Dragon Ball. I used to love Dragon Ball because they lived in a parallel universe and they had so many wonderful stuff like supernatural abilities and life after death. Another anime serie that I used to like very much was Detective Conan and it had something not very common in the story too because Conan was an adult whose body was turned into a child's body with a drug or a poison. 

But a few years later I stopped watching TV and I stopped being interested in the TV series, so I never watched anime again. So, the anime didn’t influence my life and it didn’t make me interested in other areas of the Japanese culture either because it's not a culture that I specially love, but the anime is part of my childhood anyway.

Post 2: A country I'd like to visit

I would like to visit Peru because of its jungle. There are a lot of rescue centers for wild animals and specialized centers dedicated to the reforesting of the native plants. These centers are in the middle of the jungle and nobody can arrive without a guide (and a car) and there is no electricity or any comfortable stuff of our modern life.

I love nature and animals so I would like to work in some of those centers for a couple of months. These centers are focused in the rescue of wild animals that are hurt because of man fault, or wild animals that were pets before. The people that work in the centers introduce them in this closed habitat in the middle of the jungle litlle by little so that they can get used to wild life in their natural habitat and then they set them free. It’s not like a zoo because the center is supposed to be a big open spaced where the animals live in happiness and peace and they get free when they are healthy.

Post 5: A social website

More than a social website to me, it's the place where all the news that I care are together and I have to take only fifteen minutes to be well informed about things that happen everyday. It's very useful that you can add the pages that you like and see the actualizations all together, I use that with the news because the national news in the TV and the newspapers give us fake information sometime, and doesn't talk about the things I care. And I am all day out of home and I arrive very late so it's very useful to me see everything together in the same place, so every night I visit this website.

Also, I use facebook to searching new places to eat and drink in my city, so I have a "interests list" called "comida" :)

Post 4: The last movie I saw

THE SHINING

The last movie I saw was The Shinning and I saw it yesterday on my boyfriend's house. 

The movie it's directed by Stanley Kubrick, and it's about a guy (Jack Nicholson) who has to take care of a closed isolated hotel during all the winter without any human contact except for his wife and son.

Before him there was an other guy taking care of the hotel with his family like him, and he got crazy and killed them on a dramatic way, and then he killed him self. He don't care this story because he need the work, but once he arrive to the hotel and stay alone with his family, he starts to convince himself that his son and wife are against him and he try to kill them just like the other guy did. 

It's a really good movie, I loved the parts that show how the first story it's repeating in the new one like when the son of this guy see the daughters killed of the first family, and the blood falling down of the elevator.. It's sound terrible but those are very good scenes. I like the acting of the kid too and the shots.
